RTITB Forklift Truck Operators Course
This Course provides training in the operation of Forklift Trucks and the licences that are needed by those who wish to satisfy the Health and Safety Executive Criteria.
5 Day Novice Course
This Course is for Candidates with no previous experience. Candidates will be trained over a five-day period in the Safe operation of a Forklift Truck. By the last day of the course candidates will have the skills necessary to pass a “ Practical Test of Basic Operating Skills.” This test will include:-
- Operator Safety and Observation
- Steering and Operating
- Manoeuvring and Transportation
- Stacking / Destacking
- Parking
To achieve a pass candidates will have to complete the practical test with no more than 40 penalty points.
3 Day Experienced Course
This course is for Candidates who have previous experience in Forklift Truck operation. If you have ever held a Forklift Truck licence, this could be your opportunity to renew your skills.
On the last day of the course candidates will be expected to pass a “Practical Test of Basic Operating Skills” (see 5-Day Course)
1 Day Refresher Course
This course is for candidates holding a licence nearing expiry. Refresher Courses should be taken by candidates wishing to renew their licences or by those holding a current licence who have not driven a forklift truck for a 3 month period.
Candidates will be expected to pass a “ Practical Test of Basic Operating Skills” (see 5-Day Course).
2 Day Conversion Course
Anyone holding a current licence for a specific type of forklift truck has the opportunity to advance their skills still further by undertaking a conversion course.
On the second day of the course candidates will be expected to pass a “ Practical Test of Basic Operating Skills” (see 5-Day course) using one of the following forklift truck type.
- Counterbalance
- Reach Truck
- Side Loader
- Narrow Aisle
- Man-up
- Bendi
